Buried Treasure Records, Revbjelde Remix album

Some time ago I got an email from the mighty Alan Gubby (Buried Treasure Records, Revbjelde) asking if I would be interested in remixing a Revbjelde track for a remix album that he had in mind. After I hesitated for about a second, I said yes please. So here we are a lot later and my remix of Revbjelde's track Cloister is now included in this Limited edition (100 copies) 16 track cd.  Featuring remixes from Revbjelde's 2017 debut LP by Assembled Minds, Time Attendant, The Twelve Hour Foundation, Keith Seatman, Zyklus & Revbjelde themselves. Also features remixes of Tony McPhee (The Groundhogs), Klaks, La Mort Subite plus rare downloads, live recordings & exclusive new material.  Very pleased (well chuffed is another word I would use) to have been asked to contribute to this project.
Available from Bandcamp on or around 30th of April.

The Quietened Cosmologists – Pre-order Release Dates and Audio Clips

Pre-order available 12th September 2017.
Released 3rd October 2017.
From a Year in the Country Another superb themed compilation.
The Quietened Cosmologists is a reflection on space exploration projects that have been abandoned and/or that were never realised, of connected lost or imagined futures and dreams, the intrigue and sometimes melancholia of related derelict sites and technological remnants that lie scattered and forgotten.
It takes as its initial starting points the shape of the future’s past via the discarded British space program of the 1950s to 1970s; the sometimes statuesque and startling derelict artifacts and infrastructure from the Soviet Union’s once far reaching space projects; the way in which manned spaceflight beyond Earth’s orbit/to the moon and the associated sense of a coming space age came to be largely put to one side after the 1969 to 1972 US Apollo flights.

The Quietened Bunker is an exploration of the abandoned and/or decommissioned Cold War installations which lie under the land and that would have acted as selectively populated refuges/control centres if the button was ever pushed; a study and reflection on these chimeric bulwarks and the faded but still present memory of associated Cold War dread, of which they are stalwart, mouldering symbols.
Audiological contents created by Keith Seatman, Grey Frequency, A Year In The Country, Panabrite, Polypores, Listening Center, Time Attendant, Unknown Heretic and David Colohan.

Fractures – Seeing The Invisible

Seeing the Invisible (which can can be heard here) is my contribution to the album Fractures, which has been wonderfully collated and put together by A Year in the Country
Fractures is a gathering of studies and explorations that take as their starting point the year 1973; a time when there appeared to be a schism in the fabric of things, a period of political, social, economic and industrial turmoil, when 1960s utopian ideals seemed to corrupt and turn inwards. Audiological contents created by Circle/Temple, Sproatly Smith, Keith Seatman, Listening Center, The British Space Group, The Hare And The Moon ft Alaska/Michael Begg, Time Attendant, The Rowan Amber Mill, A Year In The Country and David Colohan.
Transmission sent, received, transmitted: considerations of Fractures by Kim Harten at Bliss Aquamarine: Keith Seatman provides a soundscape that combines chilling, horror filmic drones with whooshing electronic bleepage straight out of a 1970s sci-fi movie…
…excellent snapshot of current experimental music, showing the coexistence of darkness, strangeness, and profound beauty.
Fractures is available for pre-order and is released on June 16th
