Test Transmission Archive Reel 56

 

About 12 months ago I decided I needed a break from the Test Transmission Archive reel mixes. Was not sure at the time if or when I would do another..but here we are nearly 12 months later and it is time for Test Transmission Archive Reel 56. A  Psych, Electronic, Acid Folk (and all other goodies) mix.  To keep you all entertained this mix is 2 hours long and contains all sorts of ear worms, Focus Group, Funkadelic, Sweetwater, Joe Meek, Levitation, Dudley Moore, Fairport Convention, Genesis, Amon Duul ll, Forest, Fair Mothers and much more. I should say this is not the start of reguler Test Transmission mixes, but maybe the start of some random every now and then mixes.

Kate Bosworth's The Dark Train.

 

 Last Monday (18th March) my 3rd mix for Kate Bosworths Dark Train was broadcast on Warminster Community Radio. I have very much enjoyed producing these mixes for Kate and have been asked to do another for December.

This week, Dark Train has taken The Magic Roundabout line to visit Alice (and friends) who are round the Smoking Caterpillar’s gaff and providing the background music is DT’s very own jester of the sonic, Keith Seatman.
Keith’s mix is the audio equivalent of Terence McKenna’s thought process in a South American rainforest (circa 1983) and it’s a thoroughly excellent journey through music.

Dark old October is here, and the end of the year is edging closer. So to keep you going as the evenings draw in, here is a selection of tunes that will hopefully keep you all snug over the coming months. Test Transmission Archive Reel 39

Hi people its been 4 months since my last Test Transmission Archive Reel and to be honest not 100% sure when the next will be. Since the last mix my album Time to Dream But Never Seen came out on Castles in Space which was rather nice. Being as we are all stuck in doors thought I better get this one out there. Lots of goodies (not Tim Bill or Graham...nxt time) we have The Soulless Party, Revbjelde,, Plone, Space, The Ventures, Forest, Nick Drake, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Julie Driscoll, Echo and the `Bunnymen, The Gamma Children, Johanna M Beyer and loads more. A tad late but here is the last mix of the year. Should have put this up back in October but got sidetracked with other things. Been quite a while since my last Test Transmission Archive Reel, and to be honest probably the last one for 2018. Will def be more in 2019, just a tad busy at the mo working on 10in ep release and new album. So this time round to keep you all going through the Autumn and Winter you have XTC, Mary Hopkin, Darren Burn, Revbjelde, Richard Dawson, Paddy Kingsland, The Twelve Hour Foundation, Guy Pedersen and loads more. This ones taken a while to do because I got sidetracked with other things. The house is filling up with all these Archive Reels, might store them in the shed. Its that time again..........another Test Transmission Archive Reel. Lots of recent acquisitions on here (things I have received and picked up over the last few months) So this time round what do we have??? We have Bongwater, The Sweet, Tom Waits, Ruth Wall & Jim Williams, Kikagaku, Delia Derbyshire, Princehorn Dance School, Sproatly Smith, The Y'alls FC Judd a couple from Buried Treasure Records (Yuri Morozow and Alan Sutcliffe) Some Ghostbox (Belbury Circle, The Focus Group and ToiToiToi) and something new from the mysterious Bell Prover.

Its a TV and Film OST Only bumper bonanza mix.

Here we are at mix number 30. This time round its a Film and TV Soundtrack selection. Some of the themes/music have been on previous TT Archive Reels. When I first started to put this one together I did not anticipate how long the final mix would be. This version comes in at 1hr 44 mins, which is way shorter than the original mix. I had to drop a lot of music, so might do another at a later date. I have no idea when the next mix will be here. I have managed 30 TT Archive Reels which I never really thought I would get to, so maybe time for a short intermission (or maybe not) so for now sit back and enjoy music from Louis & Babe Baron, Georges Delerue, Schifrin/Holmes, John Carpenter, Yann Tiersen, Neal Hefti, Tangerine Dream, Wil Malone, Denton & Cook, Wendy Carlos, Rita Tushingham & Lyn Redgrave, E Arel & Petit and loads more.

Here we are with the last Test Transmission Archive Reel of 2016. I have quite a lot on at the mo trying to finish the next album which is out in 2017 so a tad busy. I am very happy to say that I received a call from the Head Gardener at The Garden of Earthly Delights asking me if he could play Test Transmission Archive Reel 2 on his program. How could I say no. He is such a nice chap. I strongly recommend going to his site and checking  out his Charity Shop Hop and Car Booty links.
