Popping into Brighton on September 24th for Splitting the Atom IV at the Green Door Store. My good Friend Mr Jez (Shndg) Stevens is playing that day and invited me along to help out carrying some of his strange old equipment. So a day out at the seaside for me.
If you live within 900 miles of Southsea/Portsmouth and are thinking of going to Shndg 6 then I am pleased to say at long last tickets for this event are now on sale. And can be got from here. The tickets are £5.00 and I have been told by Mr Stevens (the curator of all things Shndg) that this is now a ticket only event.
This is a very exciting and rare moment. I have managed to get a photo of Mr Stevens.... The Curator of all things Shndg. I wonder? who could Mr Stevens be talking to?.... Maybe he could be arranging the next Shndg? or maybe booking an act? or just talking to Miss Jones and asking for a cup of tea. Who knows? But what ever it is you know it will def be worthy of Shndg.
If like me you like/love clunky old analogue electronics. Then I strongly urge you all to check out Pye Corner Audio. Black Mill Tapes Vol 1 & 2 are a must for us old synth bods. Vol 1 & 2 are filled up with lovely synth drones, pulses bleeps and rhythms which instantly beg to be heard again and again. A good friend of mine Mr Stevens the curator of all things Shndg, saw Pye Audio/The Head Technician at the recent Belbury Youth Club in Brighton. And informed me that it was "really bloody good, you should have been there". Personal favs of mine are the Haunting Theme Number 6 and Theme Number 4.
